I doubt it's standard policy but the free AirPods registered as a separate transaction with its own full price receipt and that cost was deducted from the price of the iMac. It was surprising as I had planned to sell the AirPods but when I saw that I just brought them to a store with the receipt and got a refund to my credit card.

Need to buy at least 20 times to pay for the Mac studio base model.
The Studio is very exciting for those needing the power like video editors. Personally, glad I picked up the 24" iMac last summer at the student price with free "Back to School" AirPods. Used these discounted gift cards and was able to return the AirPods for a refund.
The iMac has been perfect for my basic needs and even light video editing. The 24" screen hasn't been an issue. For my use, it's not much different than 27" but way better than 16". The standard size for gaming monitors is actually 24" because it requires less eye movement.
Still, the Studio is exactly what I'd want if more power was needed or money was no object. The 27" display is good but I wish Apple developed an affordable stand and passed that savings along to the consumer. There should be a cheaper Apple screen for Mac Mini users.

Is being able to return the free gift from an Apple promo for a refund common policy or did you just get an exception/lucky? Did they credit the refund back to your original form of payment or just do a store credit? Thanks
