Not sure how the i7 compares to this model but I bought it as a refurb on eBay two weeks ago for $269 after 15% off sale. It was refurbed by iRobot and was indistinguishable from new except for the refurb labeling on the box. Supposedly has 10x the suction of earlier models, not sure if they mean all 600 series. I will probably get the auto emptying bin separately when it drops in price, not worth an extra $250 just for that feature. I love the i7 so far, I had it map my floor plan and I created zones so now I can say "Alexa, tell roomba to clean under the bed". Works perfectly. Not significantly quieter than older models but I didn't expect it to be.
