Just a heads up, this combo pack is borderline false advertising because they advertise the headset as the Cloud Core. What they don't tell you is this isn't the actual Cloud Core 7.1 (the one that comes with the USB dongle). I'm not even sure if they sell this specific model separately or if it's just a cheaper version made for the Streamer Pack. It's 3.5mm only, whereas the individual Cloud Core has a USB dongle with optional 3.5mm by detaching it. This particular Cloud Core headset has a much smaller and cheaper inline volume/mic mute with an extra splitter for stereo/microphone. Also, they advertise a toggleable 7.1, just like the actual Cloud Core, but the kicker? They're referring to DTS and they only give you a scratch card for a 2 year license to use it.

That said, the microphone quality on the headset is abysmal, which is not unusual for headsets but I thought I'd give it a try. I can't comment on the condenser microphone, but if they cheaped out on the headset, I would expect them to cheap out somehow on the solocast. I packed it all up and sent it in for a refund.

If this had the actual Cloud Core 7.1 with it, then I'd be more likely to call this a decent deal (It's only $15 off compared to buying each separately as I write this), but now that I know the actual contents of the package, this feels more like inflating MSRP so your "sale" price looks like a steal.

Edit: Forgot HP also acquired HyperX back in June, as far as I can tell the pack released sometime late Q4 2021 with a slew of paid reviews. If it quacks like a duck and all of that

I've been thinking about trying one of these USB mIc out. Can anyone comment on how long the USB Cord is for the MIC? My gaming desk is about 10' away from my Xbox Series X. I was hoping I could run the cable along the baseboard of the wall. Thanks

According to hyperxgaming.com, the cable length is 2m (a little over 6 feet)

It's pretty good actually, especially at this price range. I do have the headset and use it regularly for both gaming and my office meetings. Never really had any issues.

The best budget setup for streaming is a pair of (closed) headphones and a modmic.

Most headphones will last forever. The Modmic is very sophisticated and durable these days. Most headsets ( headphones + mic) will break.

Cheap streaming microphones do not deliver better quality audio than even many built-in headset mics, and to really get the most from them you should use a boom arm. A half decent boom arm is around $40. Half decent, not great.

The deal here isnt bad for every day gaming, but it's a complete joke to use for streaming.

I got this today since my son needed a headset and I needed a mic. I feel the mic does an excellent job, but I am going from the built in one on my webcam so anything was an improvement

Any recommendations for a modmic or first one from Google good enough?

IMO, the clouds are better headphones than the m20x.

Excuse the stupid question…but what makes this a streamer thing. I guess my confusion is why would you have a standup mic as well as a mic with headphones. Just a bit confused

I don't have this specific model but I do own two other hyperx headsets and the mic on those tends to pick up the sound output from the headphones. People I'm playing with say they get an echo of the game sounds from my mic.

So people don't have to hear you breathing.

I kid. You could use the headset mic for voice chat in the game you're playing and the standup mic for your stream. Also makes it possible to mute one mic source while keeping the sound on for the other.

In for one. Thanks
Hope it works for my intended use - mic out for Zoom/Teams meeting and Bluetooth headset for audio in. I have the steelseries 7 wireless but sometimes I prefer not to wear that for meetings.
