Trick with Southwest is Companion Pass. It's generally a better idea to wait until near the end of the year to sign up for these cards (usually two are needed) so that you can plan your rewards to come through in Jan-Feb. 125k points earned gives Companion pass for the rest of the current year and all of the following year.
Double the value of all points earned.
Round trip for two people from NY to AUA for 35k points with Companion pass.

If you aren't interested in a companion pass, there aren't a lot of other reasons to get a SW credit card. It's easier to get more Chase Ultimate Rewards points which you can instantly convert into SW Rapid Rewards whenever you want. You can also call a Chase number and have them book Southwest flights for you using the cash value of your Ultimate Rewards points, which can be worth 10% more than the same number of RR points. But it's kinda a hassle, especially if you want to change your flight, so I usually don't bother. And that value delta only applies if you have a Sapphire Reserve.
One can still get one personal and one business to get the companion pass though.
Remember though, money charged to a Southwest Chase card to get the points costs you the 1, 2 or 5 percent it could get you on another card. That's part of the cost of the points.
