Your points are exactly on point. I build PCs for clients so I'm hyper aware of specs at various price points and this is not it. This would of been a maybe a year ago while we were still in the GPU apocalypse but not anymore. Lenovo Legion prebuilts are usually the best quality/parts wise but you have to look at the price too to critically whether it holds true.

The 1.4k Strix Hotbox from Best Buy is argubly a better buy than this with the 11700F/3070 for $1399. Don't get me wrong though, it's not that good either but for $400 less for fairly similar specs, I'd rate it better. I've attached a video from someone who bought it below to give you an idea

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D...=GameNight

I'd honestly just be on the lookout for deals, GPU prices are falling rapidly. There was a Asus 3070 Ti TUF for $699 for almost an hour yesterday. Asus plans to slash their 30 series GPU prices by as much as 30% in the near future for reference.

I am curious if the community finds this a good deal. Lots of RAM, but last gen Intel processor. Prices are coming down, this would have been a great deal a few months ago imo, now I am not so sure... Thoughts everyone?

So to punish him for being a jerk to others online (or cheating in games?) and getting his computer banned from multiple games, you bought him a brand new, better computer? You sure taught him a lesson alright "it's only money"...solid parenting there!

Thank you.
I was thinking this. At this point I am kinda determined to hold out for a 4000 series, prob 4080, and a 12th gen Intel. Based on the leaks the 4000 series will be a big upgrade. Obv won't be this price point, but then I should be set for quite a while too. Unless a true Slick Deal rears its head soon...

Hmmm just bought this "used" from bh photo for $1678 + tax. Maybe not the best use of money? I really like the design minus the rgb. I was between this or an open box Asus m16 with 12900h and 3070 ti from bestbuy for $1891 + tax maybe I should just spend the little bit extra? the Asus deterred me because I feel like it may run hotter/louder/partial plastic build but idk. So confused

I bought a similar configuration from Newegg for same price last year. This version has more RAM and the extra SSD. Looks like this one has an air cooler while I had a aio in mine, but air cooler should be sufficient with this CPU. Lenovo probably makes one of the better prebuilts.

You can probably build the same spec PC for a bit cheaper, assuming you can find a 3070 for under $1K. Currently my MicroCenter has a 3070 ti for around $830.

Agreed. Could build something just slightly better for the same price, maybe a 5-10% performance bump. That being said, Costco's warranty is pretty stellar, especially if you use their credit card (4 years of coverage). It's a tough call.

This deal is on par with a similar Legion 7i deal back in 08-04-2021 from Newegg. So the price on the Legion 7i has not gone down; unless, you factor in the additional 2nd year warranty from Costco Concierge.

Was that deal 32 gb of RAM though (legit asking, idk)? Most I see are just 16... This is the cheapest I have seen this build, but I am thinking it is less to do with being a deal and more to do with new cards coming out, the chip shortage slightly easing, and shit coins all plunging in value so mining not as good anymore.

The $1600 Legion 7i from Newegg had 16GB but you could easily add another 16GB RAM for $80 and the total would be $1680. Back then the RTX 3070 was selling for $1000 on eBay and now the RTX 3070 sells for $869 on eBay. So ideally this Legion 7i from Coscto should be $1570 due to the drop in the price of the RTX 3070.
