This knife used to frequently hit 30 dollars all the time in the past. However the last few years that price has been more and more infrequent, and the price has hovered in the low to mid 40s since Covid.

I'm a big fan of Victorinox and Mercer knives. They're way better than any of the random cheap knives, but also not so expensive that you need to feel anxious about sharpening it yourself if that's something you're new to.

How well does the handle guard stay clean? I'm not digging the potential of mold growing from the seam where the handle and blade meets.

I have much more expensive knives, but this one is my favorite. It has good weight balance, a comfortable handle and it's easy to clean. Perfect every day knife.
