If I want to backlight the rear of my desk and place a border of lights behind it, can I cut and trim the Govee lights to do that or do I have to make loops of the light around the corners?

I own quite a few Hue lights at this point and the price is steep but they have performed very well.

This I just don't get… I've seen clips people take of their setup with the light adjusting with the TV and it looks annoying as hell.
