I own quite a few DeWalt 20v tools and have worked very closely to them and what they offer for the last few years now. The statement you have made is false. If anything, they have corrected mistakes by releasing newer models on a couple of their weaker offerings (primarily hammer drill and impact drivers), updating their battery platform with the recent release of the PowerStack line, and releasing/expanding their completely revamped compact 12v series.
I have a plethora of DeWalt batteries from multiple points in the last 3-4 years and have not needed a warranty on a single one so far with daily/weekly use (often heavy use).
If you are just looking at their hammer drill and impact driver lineup, they make some of their tools at the DIY level, sure. They also have models at multiple tiers up to and including contractor grade.
You also doubled down on buying brand new batteries off of Facebook "marketplace, craigslist, OfferUp, etc". What you failed to mention (whether my deliberate omission or ignorance) is that if you are getting brand new DeWalt batteries off of these platforms at the price you claim, they are almost guaranteed to be stolen. DeWalt tools are one of the most high-theft items for major retailers that carry them. By engaging in those purchases, you are most likely supporting theft.

They're a great shop. Just wish they had more locations.
And it's not a very good deal, as these can be had at $10/ah on marketplace, Craigslist, offerup, etc. So it's a $50 battery at this point.
Also, Dewalt has had a lit of problems with the 5ah Batteries made after 2019. So, they're supposedly going to redesign them since they had a massive batch of the 18 cells that didn't fate too well. Hopefully the new 5ah has the 21's
You're comparing NEW pricing with valid warranty, to USED pricing with no assurance of battery health.

If they were $55 I mightve posted it. Hopefully next week will bring a better flash deal.
