The AxFast NEMA 14-50 one you have linked is showing as $349 for me, not 249 as posted. Still, thank you for the post, been waiting on a sale on one of these!

I use the 14-50 one and am pleased with it. The only downside with using this on a Tesla is having to make sure the adapter comes out as well.

Same. It shows 349 for me after discount. I almost had a heart attack if it was 249. Bought it in 2020 for 369

Small detail but the NEMA 14-50 should be able to do 40 amps but this only goes to 32. Not much difference but still of note.

No point in the 120 volt. it's also more commonly referred to as level 1. I think most cars come with one. don't expect to drive more than 40 miles in a day to be able to recharge over 8 hours through 120 v (level 1)

Great deal. Be aware though that these are not UL listed.

If it plugs into a 120V outlet, it is just regular charging right? You only get a speed upgrade if you go with the 220V one?

I have chevrolet volt and have been wondering if i should upgrade to 240V although so far i have been doing ok to just charge overnight and do one main trip per day.

Unless you don't have a 240v, if it works for you now, to for it. I only have a 240 and share it with my dryer. I get 5x the speed than I would with a 120.

I just finished spending more than I'd like to admit to install a 50A/240V circuit in my garage. I already had a 20A/240V outlet there but figured I want to maximize my charging ability for those times when I didn't plan ahead.

There's a supercharger not more than 3 miles from my home though. I'm paying through the nose for convenience, and it's probably not worth it, but I like to have the option available to me. You have to ask yourself which is more important to you, saving that cash or having the flexibility.

The cheaper one linked isn't really a true level 2, only goes up to 3.84kW at 16A/240V. Buy the other one if you have the proper setup at home for double the charging speed.

So Costco definitely incites some confusion with this description, its a dual voltage charger supporting both 120 and 240 outlets (includes adapters) which makes it fantastic for home use and to throw in the car to travel. Obviously it will function as L1 when plugged into a 5-15 standard wall outlet and L2 when in a 6-20 or 10-30 outlet. However its only rated for 16A so its not going to be as powerful as some 30A L2 chargers. There are many flavors of L2 and L3 chargers, details are important. If you have a vehicle with a large battery pack, the 30A version is probably better but for me the versatility outweighs the speed

How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I didn't even know it was a thing for people to be able to install a 50A at home.

It depends on your state and how far of a run for the wire. Anywhere between $500 and $1500.

I had mine run about 20 feet and it cost about $1k with permits. I would just call like 4 electricians and have them give you a quote, its well worth it to be able to charge overnight during off-peak rates.
