To avoid tax and fees, you may buy the refills from a third party like Target first and pay the plan with refills. Sign up for a Target REDcard debit or credit card and you'll get at least 5% off every purchase, more when they offer sales on refill cards.

You can change the plan after you sige up.

FAQ:

Q: Do $10 and $35 Connect by T-Mobile receive an annual data increase?
A: No. Only $15 and $25 Connect by T-Mobile plans feature an annual data increase

eSIM: T-Mobile DOES offer eSIM on pre-paid plans even if you have an Android phone. If you have an iPhone, download the T-Mobile Prepaid eSIM app and you will be able to sign up that way. You may have to scroll the plan list to see the cheaper Connect plans, T-Mobile buries them.

Boostmobile? the worst support on the Earth?
Tmobile prepaid get priority data like their postpaid which neither metropcs get nor the mvno. I guess tmobile prepaid gets domestic roaming as well. That's the main benefit compared to other tmobile based
I am glad someone mentioned this. This is the reason to go for T-Mobile prepaid vs others. You get the highest priority data unlike any other mvno. I have mint, and I barely get any data in certain areas even with almost full bars.

Just checked. Domestic roaming is limited to 100MB. Better than nothing in a pinch, but useless if you rely on this a lot.

I have a question here.. what if after signing up for first month for $10 plan... I just top up for $5 for the next month... Will this line be still active n they will enable $3 plan 100 mins and 100 text etc? Or will I loose the line?
Loose or lose?

Any CSR can help you. I spoke with two and both emailed me the QR code right away.

I am not a T-mobile customer. Can I join t-mobile connect, or I have to become a postpaid customer first?

I cannot. It asks for T-Mobile ID which requires T-Mobile phone number.

Select the option that says you don't have account. I signed up and got the sim card and works fine with my 21 Ultra.

I switched from Tello 3 weeks ago after having it for 2 years.
With Tello I had very limited signal at work but it was still usable.
For the first week after switching to Connect, I had more than decent signal at work. But after that first week, my phone was completely unusable. Zero signal, I can't even send a text now.
I don't know what have changed but I'm already looking to switch carrier.

A co-worker with a Magenta plan is experiencing the same issue.

T-Mobile has been shutting down or rebanding former Sprint towers around the USA, my guess is the Sprint tower by your work was one of these.

I've been thinking about switching to TMO Connect. Is there any way to find out what coverage areas may be impacted by this or is it just random?

Edited to say: I'm currently RedPocket CDMA and I've noticed significant deprioritization in the last two weeks to the point where sometimes I can't even make calls. I'm ready to switch carriers!

+ taxes and fees which Mint doesn't charge. How is this a better deal?
I paid $202 for my $180 12 month plan last month. Mint absolutely does charge taxes and fees. And honestly their service has turned to trash. There was always deprioritization but I used to at least still get 1-2mbps during heavy congestion. Enough to use Maps or visit sites or whatever. Nowadays I get 0mbps. Absolutely nothing loads. I think Tmobile changed their MVNO policy and allows them to be deprioritized to 0 now. Which was the same exact reason I left Verizon Prepaid several years ago.
If my mint didnt renew I would give this a try if its true they dont deprioritize as much. Deprioritizing to 0 should be illegal honestly.
