1st D3 lasted 2 years, lidar died, replaced lidar, motherboard died 3 months later, new battery yearly.
2nd D5 lasted 18 months, motherboard died, replaced, lidar died 1 month later, new battery at end of 1st year.
3rd D3, currently own (gave to grandma), she uses it 1x week and has owned it for about 8 months.
Neato does not sell replacement parts and wasn't easy to deal with. We now own a Roomba I4 (Costco) and an I8 (Costco). We went Roomba for 2 reasons, they sell replacement parts on their website and they are camera based navigation. After having the lidar die and costing 90 dollars to replace, cameras rarely if ever die. The neato's did suck up more stuff on our hard floors. I like the Roomba's way more. In the 1 year we have had the I4/I8, between the 2 of them, they have only failed to vacuum 1 time total. They have never once got stuck. We vacuum daily FWIW.
I am not saying Roomba's are the best, I am saying Roomba's having replacement parts for almost any part that can fail, they even sell wheels. I trust a camera over lidar for reliability. The Roomba's are super easy to take apart and clean. I will not buy another Lidar based robot, even if they navigate more efficiently.

Have a D4 as replacement after a D6 broke during height of pandemic. One floor mapping limit on that is awful. Battery cannot finish regular run without charging halfway through.

I'll give up the wide brush for the way better navigation of the Roborock and better app and features.
Neato could have been a contender if they had continued to develop the route planning algorithm and app, but they did (mostly) nothing all this time. They're just squeezing out profit from the old platform until some other company buys up what's left of them.

I've wasted more time and repeatedly become frustrated trying to get the "robot vacuum that automatically cleans your floors for you periodically" dream than it would have taken me to just use a manual vacuum.
