I have to laugh, half the deals that get posted, there must be 20% of responses that mention "oh, you can get this cheaper at Harbor Freight," blah, blah, blah... and then a 30% off of $10 and under coupon is offered w/o almost any exclusions, and then there's a lot of HFT Hate!?
Prices at HFT on many things have crept up over the years (but so has inflation), however, HFT still has a lot of outstanding deals and offers a lifetime guarantee on most hand tools... and then you add a 30% discount -- that's pretty hard to beat. I think the screwdriver sets, in particular, are extremely good deals.
EDIT - I have to add this metal 3 pc ball end hex and torx folding key set as one of the very good deals with the coupon:
"3 Piece Folding Ball Hex Key Set" https://www.harborfreight.com/han...98523.html
As soon as China gets sanctions like Russia. Then no more Harbor Freight unless they build in the USA and jack the prices way up!
their nicer stuff is coming off production lines in Taiwan instead, and more tools are coming from there.
but as far as china sanctions, if it happens, it won't be some moral condemnation of Harbor Freight alone. From Ryobi to Snap-on, they all have a not-small chunk of their product lines coming out of China and have for no less than 10 years in most cases.
The Quinn 10 in 1 screwdriver is actually quite nice for when you just want to take 1 screwdriver with you. Perfect for your travel kit. I've been using it for electrical updates at my house. Over 6 decades the house has used every size and style slot and Philips in the outlets and switches.
Hell will freeze over before we sanction China. I don't know why every time a HF deal is posted it gets tied to China. I bet less than 5% off the tools that Lowes or HD carry is still made in the US. Yet no one seems to talk about china each time a home Depot thread gets posted

Seriously, how can you sanction (to any meaningful degree) somewhere that makes all of your stuff? That's just nonsensical. As nonsensical as us allowing them to make all of our stuff in the first place (unless you're the one getting rich from it).
Yeah, I agree. Everything's made in China, so I don't see what makes Harbor Freight so much different from anywhere else. That said, their prices have steadily risen over the past few years, and from what I've noticed, it's not really worth shopping there anymore solely for cheap stuff.

Yeah, people think that China only makes bad stuff. They make bad stuff when that's what is ordered. They can also make some pretty good stuff.
Of course to get them to make good stuff you have to have someone on site watching the QC, which a lot of companies do. Because they will cut corners at every opportunity, you just have to keep them from having the opportunity.
Everyone does business in China because it's cheaper in the short term. Their totalitarian regime has no problem cutting every corner on human rights and safety either

As someone who just started shopping at harbor freight for the first time a month ago, I don't have any memories of what they used to be like to compare to the present, but they still have a lot of cheap items.
Their impact sockets are pretty well regarded and are like half the price of the competition, it's crazy. I doubt I'll buy much more from them going forward but I stocked up on all the half decent cheap items that I didn't know existed prior to discovering that place, for a couple hundred bucks.
There are scores of YouTube videos about which items you should buy from harbor freight instead of other places that are worth a watch.

I can tell you that my local HFT has been very "flexible" with the 5 item limit for the coupon. If you bring up 50 items, they'll probably give some ish, but if you have 6 or 7 items under $10, then they seem to just give you the discount on all of them. YMMV
I agree, I bought 7/8 items multiple times, no issues. Reps do not care too much. As long as computer takes the transaction, its good. But if 5 limit gets hardcoded, then it is not their fault. They can do multiple transactions.
I like buying cheaper items to see if its useful for what i think i need it for, try it, if i like it and it breaks, i buy a better one.

People are nostalgic for a time that never was. Prices are higher at HF overall but the quality has risen for many product lines. There is still the cheap stuff, and those things remain cheap in quality and price.
Yes, prices have increased and freebies are rare now, but the price changes have either come with quality increases, or in response to market forces, just like for every other store. Very strange disproportionate hate for HF.
