Fine print for LAX to Bali says the promotion is only for flights SQ11 (outbound) and SQ12 (inbound), all of which I found to be ~$1500+ flights that were >37 hours in total duration due to insane layovers on all of the many dates I tried, I give up!

Layovers like 1h 10m in Narita (you're asking to miss your connection), but that's fine because you could just swim to your second stop in time, which is a 14h 55m layover in Singapore.

$1300 or less would be more enticing. But it's pretty bad in my opinion - even at $500 I would not take a flight with two stops, one at 1 hour (risk of missing connection), and the other 15 hours.

I'd way rather do $900 economy (they even have $760) with 1 stop of 3 hours.

You're not going to miss the connection in Tokyo. You're getting back on the same plane that you arrived on.

Tried to search Ho Chi Minh City for my next coming trip from JFK and comes up with more than $2,000. Has anyone successfully find the tickets for its advertise prices?

Edit: Look likes lowest prices are in low season only. Outbound from May or June still very high.

oooh that would at least make the first stop totally fine, but still an issue with the second stop of 15 hours!

Genuinely interested in how you can tell when it's guaranteed to get back on the same plane! (flight numbers can change, right? Or what if your first flight departs an hour later than scheduled?)

Is it not super rare that the plane you are continuing on is the same? Most of the time you have to switch to another plane.

It may be a safish gamble for a place like Narita that is super efficient and reliable, but is there a way to be 100% certain when selecting flights? I've been in
It is always going back to the same flight. They clean and freshen up the plane in transit.

In that case, do you have to get off the airplane at Narita Airport if your final destination is Bali (or whatever next stop the same airplane is going)?

The flights I checked listed two different types of planes 🤔

For example... https://www.google.com/travel/fli...cTeERe8HQ8

But that's an 1:25 stop in Changi with Singapore on both sides, which will be a breeze given how they operate at that airport.

I've been in <1.5 hour international layovers (such as in Germany and Switzerland) that unexpectedly required literal sprints from one end of the airport to the other with 30 minute waits at Security in between and a hurried frenzy of getting on the correct airport tram etc. Both times making it to the gate essentially just as the plane's door was closing
Changi is an awesome airport and has many places to burn time there. Could also quickly check out sing too.

Couldn't find anything close to $999 for premium economy for June/July leaving from LAX.

Found a pretty good open jaw flight on JAL, albeit on economy, for mid-June to early July for $800, which I got instead. JAL is said to have one of the top economy products,so I am content with that price to visit SE Asia.
