Ryobi days is coming up. This same 2x batteries and charger was 49 plus tax after the hack last year
Agreed. If you're buying two ryobi batteries, chances are you already have a charger, or three in my case. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra $20 and get high performance.
Looks like a decent deal to me; people seem to spitball batteries at $10/Ah, so this is spot on. There's the current deal of 2 x 4.0 Ah HP batteries for $99 - so for $20 less, this is a good deal for those who have been getting into the One+ ecosystem and want some good batteries, but done have any tools that can make use of the HP batteries. (There's an additional contact in those for HP tools…)
Might want to tweak your title: it reads like the deal is for "one batteries" - so changing to "One+ batteries 2 x 4.0 Ah" just to make clear it's for TWO batteries.

I believe this was a similar deal on Black Friday without the charger. This is different than the high performance line of batteries but almost everyone says that's just a marketing gimmick and these last the same duration. Pretty normal but good SALE price

I found it. Thanks

Do the HP batteries really make that much of a difference in the brushless tools? Or is it more of a marketing ploy? I have both types of tools but can't really tell a difference but I don't use them every day to really have a good test.

Interesting - do you know when the next Ryobi Days event is?
I'm a bit concerned that the hack days might be coming to a close. A bunch of the "new" Ryobi items at Home Depot are single-SKU items which combine the hackable deals into one item for HD - thus no longer hackable.

For example -- the current best hackable deal: a 4-tool combo with $139 sale price that hacks to $75:

And here's the "new" replacement SKU - which includes the 4.0 Ah battery into a single SKU with the same set for the same $139 price:
