Can not warn people off this deal hard enough. Woot is not a reputable seller since being run by Amazon. You're not buying "from Amazon" or "from woot". You're essentially buying items drop shipped from an invisible Amazon third party seller but with worse customer service and returns policies.

This specific deal keeps coming back over and over. It's not a deal, it's just the price that these fakes are. I've bought from this deal in the past (Costas and Ray Bans) and they're fakes. Woot gave me a partial refund when I pointed out to their support that they're fakes, so they're not exactly denying it even. They're good quality fakes (the glass lenses are glass for instance) but don't buy these thinking it's a great deal on real ones. Go in knowing that this is a potentially okay price on decent quality fakes from a mysterious seller.

The best deals on Persol have been at Nordstrom Rack throughout the past few years... I bought a half dozen pairs for $60-$100, most polarized and popular men's models (like the McQueen). I may flip some or just enjoy the fun rotation.

I see these posts all the time and contemplate buying the ray-bans. I then check out the comment section and see your reviews. It's definitely saved me some disappointment. Thanks for taking the time to inform everyone!

Note that woot will "deduct the prepaid cost of return shipping from the refund" if you're returning it for reasons other than "defective or damaged"

So if they don't fit right, you will be charged return shipping.

Plenty of fake CDM and Maui Jim's on Amazon as well. How does one tell real from fake on these sunglasses? The fakes seem to be well packaged and look authentic?

Thanks in advanceConfused!

Would like to know this as well. From my understanding, real ones are made in Italy and have serial number plus certificate of authenticity.

If you are referring to the ray-bans. They are made in Italy and also China. There is an etching of "RB" on the lens (got to look closely it's very small). Cheaper fakes have it printed on the lens to make it looked etched. The better ones have it etched as well. So, it's really hard to distinguish the two. They have really mastered reproductions. Buying from the RB website would guarantee being real.

With other products, sometimes at the factory, the real product is switched with a fake. The real product is then sold. Even from reputable dealers, you cannot guarantee authenticity.

In for some new Costas. I've bought from these deals in the past with positive results (Costas for me, RayBans for the Mrs.) Pretty confident Costas are real since the factory sent me a new pair when a hinge broke. Lots of big head options which is harder to find in my experience.

If you want to be certain your are buying an authentic product, you need to buy from an authorized reseller. You can check the manufacturer website for a list of authorized resellers.

Sellers like Woot and Eyedictive are NOT authorized resellers.

I can vouch that Woot sold authentic Oakley sunglasses as recently as early last year.

I cannot speak to buying any other brand of sunglasses on Woot except Oakley and not since February of last year, ie 2021, but I've bought Oakley sunglasses from Woot, Jomashop, and Oakley.com, from October 2020 to January 2022, and they were all identical in product and nearly identical, if not exactly, in packaging. I've even bought Oakley soft vault cases at Woot and they were identical to the soft vault case included with my EVZero Path sunglasses I bought from Jomashop which have all the same features as the genuine ones seen on the Oakley (unofficial) forum. So either they're all authentic or some really, really good fakes.

I can directly compare the sunglasses bought from Woot and Jomashop with Oakley.com because they are all M2 Frame XL (1 grey and 1 black iridium lens from Jomashop, 1 black iridium lens from Woot, and 1 grey lens Oakley.com), ignoring the EVZero Path. The boxes varied between ©2019 and 2020, but were identical if the same year, even between stores, including Oakley.com. The only variation between Oakley.com and the others is the product label (sticker on the box), but there was an intervening year (I bought my 2nd to last pair in Feb 2021 from Woot and my last pair in Jan 2022 from Oakley.com) where Oakley could have cosmetically changed it. I have a hard time believe the glasses are authentic, or perfect forgeries, but with a sloppy imitation label, identical between both Woot and Jomashop.

i bought some rag and bone sunglasses from eyedictive and they were so cheap feeling, squeaked like crazy and had horrible tolerances. I was blown away at how bad they were for $40. Didnt hold a candle to the raybans i buy from nordstrom or sunglasses from warby

So in other words buying from Woot is pretty much buying from some unknown 3rd party seller hiding behind Woot?

If so atleast Amazon states the actual seller.

I have a pair of fake Costas and the ones from woot.. the ones I got from woot, say made in Italy, have serial numbers, and after several pair now, are either real or so well faked they get serviced by Costa with no issues.
