No way with a 30 day warranty that's insane. The high price for a vitamix is justified in part by their great warranty…my vitamix has failed too many times to go for a 30 day only

I'm curious what kinds of problems you've had. I have had my professional version for over 15 years now and never had an issue with it except having to replace the plunger because I forgot to put the lid on. Do you think newer ones aren't as good quality as the older ones?

Yeah, mine was giving to me by my mother-in-law, it's a 20 year old professional referb...her nor I have had an issue with and have never needed to replace anything. Vitas are priced as they are not because of their warrenty, but because they do not need a warenty.

I've been very successful with new/open box stuff registering for manufacturer warranty.
But it might depend on the manufacturer.

I bought a new open box GE refrigerator and was able to warranty the ice maker just fine through GE

I thought the Vitamix warranty was transferable? 30 days is certainly a no go for a Vitamix these days. The newer Ascent I've purchased can't hold a candle to my 15 year old 5200 in reliability or performance. Hopefully they still make the 5200 the same way they did 15 years ago. Either way, the 5200 comes up for sale around this price with a full warranty once or twice a year, so I'm not sure if this is a great deal.

I cant comment on newer vs older since I've only ever had "newer" - but we've had an E310 for ~3 years now, and its failed no less than 4 times...and by fail I mean won't work at all until sent back for repairs. The drive socket is designed to "self destruct" if it senses too much resistance in an effort to protect the motor...our drive socket was the cause of all 4 failures as it totally cracks and breaks apart. We're not doing weird stuff either...mainly just spinach + bananas + apples and some frozen fruit on top. Vitamix has been good about fixing it and shipping both ways - but this has still failed far more than cheap blenders we've had for longer
