This is overkill for work meetings. It will also pickup a lot of random noises that will annoy coworkers
I currently have a Blue Yeti Snowball. The main issue I have with the Snowball is that it doesn't have a "mute" toggle while this M-Audio mic looks like it has a toggle (I viewed the specs on B&H's website). Minor feature but very convenient. I bought my Snowball last year for about the sale price of this M-Audio mic. I'm going to buy this M-Audio mic.
Thanks for the tip , you saved me $40!!!

Anyone own one? This would be cool for meetings at home instead of using my Bluetooth headphones. Gotta step up that virtual meeting game ๐Ÿคฃ

Probably, but I can't imagine cardioid + Google Meets sound filtering would be too bad. Definitely aware it's complete overkill, but I like the idea of having a mute button, physical volume controls and the ability to use my more comfortable studio headphones. I have a full studio setup with multiple high end condenser mics that I guess I could try but I don't generally work in that room, so the portability of this would be cool ๐Ÿ˜‚ Really, I'm just an audiophile and gadgets like this always get me excited but I have no use for recording actual voiceovers or music with it since I already have better gear for that ๐Ÿ˜œ Just want to make sure the quality isn't junk. That's a lot of features for $40.

Unless the room is super quiet, you're better off with a dynamic mic for work meetings. Condenser mics can pick up too much background noise (street noise, other rooms, air conditioning). The Samson Q2U ($69) and Audio-Technica ATR-2100x ($99) are good starter mics, albeit not in this mic's price range by any means. You can try to a cheaper one like the ATR-1200x, but that one has a 3.5mm interface and you'll either need that on your computer or an adapter to USB.

If you're using Windows 10, it's good to add a microphone to a Bluetooth headset anyway since Windows 10 natively will only give you stereo headphones OR mono headphone ("handsfree audio") + microphone on a single BT headset.

A on/off or mute toggle is nice...just remember to untoggle it on the mic itself and not in your conferencing software Stick Out Tongue .

But how can an audiophile consider this at all? The price is missing a couple zeros...

Agreed. I was comparing a lot of these few months back and ended up going with the Samson Q2U.
