Been watching these and this has been the lowest price I've seen, excluding a recent deal for military that was under $200.

Just want to point out. Just like Apple Yeti has a markup on their brand.
Thing is I always buy it with a 20% coupon so it comes out to almost the same price as a competitor brand (rtic for example).
What is different is the resale value. You can sell a yeti in a second, not too sure about the other brands.
Quite frankly they make good stuff. My insulated rambler bottle outlasts all my other ones I bought from costco. It also comes with a super wide mouth for easy filling
Their pricing has gone a bit out of control. This much for a drybox? Come on!

Wow, lots of people ripping on this case, but you're probably going to be spending more on a Pelican of similar size and this one has some nice features like the tray and attic.
As a cheaper alternative, I suggest looking into the plastic portable toolboxes from Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ridgid, etc.
I dropped by Ace to check this out in person. It's smaller than I would expect from a $200 dry box. I got a fully loaded Yeti bucket 2 years ago as a gift and I'm afraid to use it for anything serious, just thinking of mixing thinset in it hurts.

I have Milwaukee packout that is also expensive and no where near the quality and thickness of this yeti. The packout is IP rated but i wouldn't test them on a river trip like i would with the yeti. I too thought this is overpriced but really depends on your use. I've seen these yeti loadout boxes and they are really beefy and thick comparable to not much other than pelican like was pointed out but I don't believe pelican have one with these same specs. This loadout will last a long long time. It is smaller in person than you would think. I personally have a spot in my raft where this will fit in like a glove so on my list. Still at $200 a little price
y but you get what you pay for in life. I've had friends with rtic coolers and nightmares with warranty claim. Yeti you just walk into a number of big box stores and they swap out for you. I personally like Engel coolers but Yeti is really nice too. the yetis are better quality and you can remove the yeti sticker so you don't look too rich!!!

It's not everyone's cup or tea price wise I get it - but for those looking for a cry once, buy once mentality then this is the one to get.
