I got an ADATA NVME drive in the past, despite reports that there are issues and sure as heck I had issues. At this price for that capacity it's an OK deal, but those of you who value your time, I'd say pay more for reputable brand. For example, there's WD Black SN750 on Amazon for $95, albeit it has slower speeds.

How about you outline those issues instead of just crapping on brands that aren't your brand of choice?

don't know why you're getting thumbs downed here, i agree completely with you. people all the time like to threadcrap because they had a personal poor experience, but then not actually go into the details.

adata has been around well over a decade now though, with quite a number of successful, well-reviewed product lines, so i'm inclined to believe they make good products on the whole. no company is immune to a lemon now and then, but this seems like a solid deal, with a low-profile heatsink (idk if that's the right term for flash/chip/memory heatsinks, but).

also i checked amazon for a 1tb wd black sn750 and did not find one for $95 [amazon.com], so i assume that's dead. and yeah it's substantially slower. i did however find an sn770 with comparable speeds for $105 [amazon.com], for anyone who might be interested in that.

The sn770 one for $5 more than the ADATA but for slightly higher speeds (5150/4900 MB/s read/write speeds) seems like a decent deal to me too. Although to be fair, the ADATA one includes a heat sink so if you need one, that'll save you another $5-10.

The issues I was forewarned about included drive-induced system "freezing" for several seconds. That was also my experience.

I think the reason specifically in my case was that a drive came with very low performance non-removable "gaming" heatsink and LED lights which can not be turned off under Linux. That caused drive to be constantly above 80C, which naturally caused data problems

Another issue I had was with RMA. They insist on registering on their website in order to get RMA, but their support web site is beyond broken, total clusterf$#k.

Again, as I said, if your time is worth nothing to you, perhaps this would be a good deal. It might also be a good deal regardless, since this is a different drive, and perhaps it's OK. I don't know. Take my feedback for what it's worth.
