MSRP is bull. This is about $80 off, not $800.

120Hz panel, but only HDMI 2.0 ports, meaning your PS5 or XSX can't transmit 120Hz to the screen in any way. Pretty much only streamed content MIGHT be able to utilize the 120Hz rates.

And there aren't any 120hz streaming services I'm aware of, so this is really just saying that it has a 120hz panel as a way to market the TV's motion handling/response. 120hz screen can drive a faster response time and add the motion-smoothing and judder-reduction enhancements which can lead to less blurring, ghosting, judder, etc.

Nice deal on a 2020 TV
Since I consider TCL the main competitor for Hisense one would think they would drop their current prices as well...especially on the R635, to about this same price

I used to swear by TCL but within the last two years their QC has [predictably] fallen off. I actually returned an R635 which had numerous flaws in favor of this. This is superior in every way.

Doesn't seem to have native 120hz or I could be wrong. Looks like a solid TV tho.

This is a fantastic deal as long as you don't want 120hz gaming. $700 for excellent image quality.

Many times TVs have 120Hz panels but are not able to display 120Hz across the board. If you're lucky 1080p @ 120Hz( Common practice among the bargain brands)
A few years ago, there was a model that boasted a 120hz screen but it could only display 60hz.

this seems like a good deal.. if I don't need HDMI out at 120hz, any other reasons I shouldn't buy this? anyone have any experience with Walmart's AllState Extenfrd Warranty?

This should perform a little better than the U6G. The price is ok. If you're wanting to future proof yourself a bit, the U7G is only $100 more at Best Buy right now and that does have HDMI 2.1 and a 120Hz panel, along with newer processor, etc,.. But without needing the refresh, save the $100 and get a great picture and enjoy it.

Has the 2020 Android TV software not been replaced by the newer Google TV software? If that's the case and I buy this TV, will I be able to download & update the new software?

I bought an H8G in 2020, nice TV and I was satisfied with it. I don't even use it though, it's mainly for my guests. The picture and color are crisp, still amazed at how well YouTube videos look on it.

At that price range I would say it is better than a lot of other models on the market. Last year it was a toss up for me between that model and the 900H because I was also comparing price wise. I still ended up going with the 900H.
