Look at the speeds. There are slower pcie-4 nvme drives with speeds around 3000 Mb/s for around $100. This does 3500 mb/s. So even though it's gen 3 you're getting great speeds at that price.

Edit: This also has slc cache. For anyone down voting this comment: please link me to a gen 4 drive from a reputable brand with faster speeds, SLC cache, 5 year warranty and no more than $100.
