I'm kind of wondering if anyone can chime in on the quality of this, but for $380 (after $20 clipped coupon) for a 4tb nvme ssd it seems like a really solid deal. I still see $80-100 as price range for deals for 1 tb and $180ish for 2tb so price per TB and to have it all consolidated into one drive slot seems like an amazing option. I just installed this into my new Eluk laptop and so far it seems awesome!

I would have serious concerns with the longevity of this drive.

I think it's an excellent price for a 4TB TLC SSD.

There was a debacle last year regarding Adata quietly changing these drives from TLC to QLC without disclosing it to consumers. Have they backpedaled on this move and restored their design to TLC?

I'll have to check mine. According to the listing it's a SLC, which from what I understand I'd rather have over the TLC's limited longevity (I don't much care about pure performance in my standard SSD). I'll have to check it in windows and see if I can find the hardware details listed somewhere. I'm not sure if QLC is better as far as longevity than the TLC, but if it's on the same line (technology to cheaply heighten storage space at the cost of write cycles), I'm guessing (for me personally) I'd be happier with SLC. I need to revisit all the SSD tech these days as I am unfortunately very underequipped. I was just desperate for a 4tb ssd and when I saw it wasn't TLC I got excited lol.

I mixed up a few letters fyi, but the concept I was trying to explain is described accurately here fyi:

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc...urce=share

The drive I have has SLC listed as the tech behind it, which I knew lasted longer than the cheaper to produce TLC and QLC technology. I was mistaken that TLC is something to be avoided compared to QLC, but the reasoning really wasn't that far off (in my defense).

Just so you know though (because I am guessing you have this issue a lot). That isn't a productive way, helpful way, or healthy way to communicate. It's completely unnecessary. If you are hurting, not believing in yourself, have low self esteem, whatever the case may be, coming on the internet and bashing the first person you can because it's safe for you to do so, when there was a perfectly good opportunity to have a discussion, explain something, help a fellow human being out, is just a tragedy. Good luck in life man. Feel free to change the direction of this and in a non-asshole way, provide the explanation you must so readily have to the people who could still see this thread and like myself, are unaware of exactly what to buy. Or don't. You don't need to spend your time on it. But if you don't, in the future, try better to not make the world a worse place instead.

Thanks in advance.

You got very salty when caught on not as tech savvy as you pretend to be. Your comment was misleading, and I just pointed it out and that is my contribution, you really overreacted.

I got this drive a few weeks ago to store my Steam library on. The drive frequently overheats during large downloads and caused some games to crash. I'll be returning this and sticking to the tried and true Samsung nvme drives from now on.
