Short answer is "no." A good condenser mic like the nt1a will capture more nuance. That said, a dynamic mic like the MV7 will give you a good sound while excluding most background/room noise.

The MV7X is a weird product, as it is the xlr-only version of a microphone, the MV7, whose sole purpose is to be dual use, usb or xlr. Podcastage says the MV7X sounds better, while admitting that the hardware is the same, so there's that. It seems like a good option at this price. It's competitors would be the Samson Q9U, and the AT 2040. Then there's Shure's handheld mics, the SM57 and the SM58, which are classics. You can't go wrong with either of those, except they don't have the cylindrical "broadcast" look to them that people like.

Discount works on multiples. I bought two. I just bought on Amazon for $161 so I'll be returning that one. Thanks!

This needs an XLR I/O device as this is XLR only.

Would using the MV7 with XLR do the same thing as this, or would this mic sound better for some reason? (I ask because maybe have dedicated internals would be better?)

They sound the same when using XLR with both mics. The MV7X ends up a better deal if you already have an audio interface and related hardware.

They are great but they are definitely not no sm7b, I paid full price for mine, if I could do it all over again I would have got the sm7b.

I got the wave 3 then the mv7. Night and day difference with background noise and quality. Wave 3 was so disappointing and reviews seemed like it was a great mic. I don't want just XLR, which makes mv7 a better deal to me. Plus you can use usb and XLR at the same time.

MV7X sounds a lot better from YouTube reviews. I have hesitated to buy a MV7 at even lower price than this during BF because of those reviews.

Yeah they are good starter microphones, but in my mind just go SM7B because if you don't keep it or stay with what you're doing the resale values are pretty strong.

Are there any other vendors other than Newegg offering this same deal?

If you are looking for best bang for buck, Samson Q2U is an excellent dynamic mic dual-use usb/XLR that can be had at a regular price of $69 or lower.

I guess that depends on what you're just starting: podcasting? voice over? Zoom calls? Streaming?

This web site [musicrepo.com] was a good starting point of information for me.

For a dynamic mic, the Samson Q2U is recommended by a lot of web sites (I don't have this one but use an Audio Technica AT2100X-USB).

Can't go wrong with the Samson price PLUS you get the ability to use it via USB or XLR (+audio interface). Some good package deals on various sites (this random one came up on Amazon for $80 [amazon.com]).

For a USB condenser mic, this Amazon Basics blue Yeti knockoff in silver for $46 [amazon.com] is the lowest price per CCC.
