I believe it's Andy Serkis who plays gollum in the movies.
I was worried that the person would sound lame.
I remember way back when, listening to all the Harry Potters and like the fifth book was a totally different person and they sucked.

I listened to the hobbit audio book and he was also the narrator there as well. He's pretty good at differentiating the characters with his voice and given off the proper emotion.
