Same thought here; going to put this inside an outdoor deck box with the batteries - going to power backyard lights.

Let me see if I can power some outdoor lights with the extra solar panels that I have. I think only thing missing is a battery

I have used this for about 2 years to run a LED setup in a shed. Works great and keeps the battery at optimum levels

I just bought this exact unit a month ago to replace a really cheap controller that came with a solar panel kit from Home Depot. It gets the job done gives good options for monitoring and have not failed me yet. I'm thinking of getting another one for another solar install. Keep in mind it's not water-proof at all.

Seems like a fun toy. Is there any reason you couldnt use any 12v or 24v source on this? Little wind turbine comes to mind given my winds..
