Other options are also available:
  • Ryzen 7 5700G + Barebone @ $599
  • Ryzen 7 4700G + Barebone @ $499
  • Ryzen 7 4700G + 16GB Ram + 256GB SSD + Windows 10 Pro @ $619
  • Ryzen 7 4700G + 16GB Ram + 512GB SSD + Windows 10 Pro @ $639
  • Ryzen 7 4700G + 32GB Ram + 512GB SSD + Windows 10 Pro @ $719
  • Ryzen 7 5700G + 16GB Ram + 256GB SSD + Windows 10 Pro @ $699
  • Ryzen 7 5700G + 16GB Ram + 512GB SSD + Windows 10 Pro @ $729
  • Ryzen 7 5700G + 32GB Ram + 512GB SSD + Windows 10 Pro @ $809

Note: This Device is based on custom AMD B550 Motherboard but with SO-DIMM memory slot, instead of normal DIMM slots. It supports Processors up to 65W TDP, both Zen 2 and Zen 3 based APUs and CPUs. It also supports PCIe GEN 4 but for that you need to have Zen 2 or Zen 3 based Processors like 3700X, 3600X, 5700X, 5600X etc. 4000G and 5000G series APUs don't support PCIe Gen 4 and if used, all the slots will be running at PCIe Gen 3 Speed.

This comes with a Graphics Card Base and Graphics card Panel which used a PCIe x16 Extender cable to connect the B550 motherboard's x16 slot to the GPU base and uses Gen 4 or Gen 3 speed based on the Processor used. This gives full bandwidth unlike Thunderbolt 3 or M.2 to PCIe x16 Converter boards which are restricted to X4 Speed only. This also needs separate Power supply

Spec:
  • Processor Support: Zen 2 and Zen 3 based Desktop CPU and APU, TDP up to 65W
  • 2x SO-DIMM DDR4 Slots supporting up to 64GB
  • 2x M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe Slot (Supports Gen 3 and Gen 4)
  • 1x 2.5" SATA Slot
  • M.2 2230 Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.2 Card
  • Ports:
    • 1x RJ45 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Port
    • 1x USB-C (Gen2)
    • 4x USB-A 3.2 Port (Gen2)
    • 1x Clear CMOS
    • 2x HDMI 2.0 (4K @ 60 Hz) (Integrated GPU only)
    • 1x DisplayPort (Integrated GPU only)
    • 1x MIC
  • 1155g

Package Contents:
  • B550 × 1
  • Power Adapter × 1
  • Power Cable × 1
  • HDMI Cable × 1
  • SATA Cable× 1
  • VESA Mount × 1
  • Graphics Card Base × 1

  • 4Pin / 8Pin / 10Pin / 24Pin Power Cable
  • Graphics Card Panel × 1
  • VESA Mount Screw Set × 1
  • Suitcasa × 1
  • Technical Documents × 1

Yup, pretty interesting concept and there is a hype since it was announced couple of months back. The concept is pretty innovative and useful actually. If you don't need the Graphics power, you can just get a 4700G or 5700G APU and use it with the Vega integrated Graphics but if you need it for gaming or any other tasks required higher GPU horse power, you can simply Pair the GPU with it using the Graphics Card Base. Since it is in a different housing, there is no space restriction or Power restriction. You can get cards like RX 6900X or RTX 3080 Ti and a beefy 600W PSU to pair it with.

Not aware at this point but probably Realtek as most B550 budget boards come with that.

How "innovative" is it when the Ryzen 7000's are such a highly anticipated factor? Will this be a form of 'planned obsolescence' by rendering its base infrastructure, essentially obsolete from the start?

This will not be any different than any normal Windows Desktop PC with mini ITX form factor. Also, it depends upon your choice of CPU and GPU. Say you add a Ryzen 7 5700X and a RTX 3060 Desktop Graphics card on this and it will behave exactly like that platform should behave and you can see those results from various reviews and benchmarks. This is not a laptop where you have to consider that specific implementation of that hardware.

There are several SFF PCs out there. I've got an old Lenovo clipped behind one monitor that runs a bunch of server stuff it's thinner and a little wider than this. This is a newer model https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/c/de...eries-tiny and Dell also sells some USFF I believe. I don't know what the mac + parallels equivalent speed is in the Intel/PC world.

I couldn't recommend these guys any less.

If you do buy from them, get a barebones. They put crap kingston parts in them otherwise.

They're also not big on releasing bios updates to fix anything missing or problematic.

Check up on past purchasers experiences and read the reviews. And note that they are very big on free product-for-review deals.

No, it isn't. Check the ETAprime and TechTablet YouTube Channels for the review. It is in fact a lot quieter than most similar sized gaming laptops.
