And presumably that means that even if you kept your computer indefinitely, at some point the new Office updates wouldn't run on it.

E.g., if your hardware can't support anything beyond Windows 11 so that's the OS you're running, but Office 2025 is only compatible with Windows 12+, you are SoL.

Thankfully I'm on a Mac, and both Apple's office software and LibreOffice are free and do everything I need.
But your Mac will last...

Thank you, that's what I thought but figured I might find some knowledge thru others
You're most welcome. You can use the Google apps, which are pretty good. I know they're not the same as Office, but it depends on what you do.

You can use the free web versions of Office apps, which have many features. I'm not sure if there is a full-featured version of the Office web apps. I don't think Office 365 has complete versions online yet, but I may be wrong. Office 365 requires a subscription, though.

Here's a link to the free versions:

If I steal, and the merchant isn't catching me, then it's their responsibility to stop the theft. 🙄
You're presupposing that a 'theft' took place vs simply breaking a contractual agreement with Microsoft. That's a criminal vs civil offense.

You have fun with that. As soon as i am able I'm downloading a car.

Its also not stealing he purchased the product, its Microsoft job to regulate it. If i ordered some fruit and they gave me three times as much then its their fault not mines.
You purchased the product to be used according to the terms. Anything else is you breaking the terms, period. I don't expect you to change your mind, as most people like with that mindset, always find ways to justify their actions.

Lifetime for THE COMPUTER you install this on. It's non-transferrable. (Updates are apparently included) I'm seeing regular price between $69-99.
All MS products can be transferred to another PC. There is just a simple verification process you have to do by calling MS automated data center. The number is provided to you after entering license.

It's still working, try it again. If you have an issue, email them, they responded back to me fairly quickly.

Just buy whatever current version is available and it's good for 10 years. Free "updates" are meaningless for the most part. It's just a word processor at the end of the day.
If you use it only as word processor you can just use Google Docs, there's no pint to waste money

Wait that's just the 2021 version of the Office but not future releases (so I imagine you will have to use office xp in 2022), I doubt you will get updates to future version like office 356 subscription. I get these for free from my school account so yeah you guys just have to pay $50.

reliable site?
Their site says this... "Softkeyworld Ltd is Microsoft Partner, Microsoft AEP – Authorized Education Partner & CSP Reseller."

I'll trust what they say until mine stops working.
