The promotional trade-in values are totally arbitrary. I just traded in a Gear S3 watch for $350 when purchasing the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360. I think I only paid $180 to buy it new. For the same purchase, they only offer $250 value for Active 2 which is a 2 year newer model than Gear S3. For $30, you probably want to keep the watch for their next round of promotion with bonus trade in value.

FYI, if you go through Samsung Pay on your phone if you have it and shop with cashback at Samsung it'll add some magical coupon for an additional $96 (looks to be 40%) off. Looks like it doesn't work with custom styles though. It just worked for me with a black 44mm with classic sport black band.

Just tried this, but I don't see any additional $96 discount. Total without trade-in for the 44mm was $215.99.

Try it with just the sport black band. Also make sure your cart is empty first. If that doesn't work then perhaps it's targeted.

This Watch is trash. Bad battery life. 1 day at the most. Health tracking sucks and is way off. Check out Desfit review. Also still waiting for Google assistant. 9 months later. Samsung sucks
