If you already have gamepass, it wont work. You need to purchase xbox live gold and max out the sub(usually 3 years out) before converting to gamepass, and then they will offer you to convert your live Gold subscription to gamepass for $1 more. Basically you pay $181 for 3 years of Gamepass Ultimate if you bought live for $60 a year.

I would like to know this as well. Last I heard, it needed to be expired for 1 month to be eligible for the upgrade again. That could have changed though.
This isn't the gold trick. It's just GPU on sale. I keep extending mine when I see it on sale. I usually bite around $100 for a year I think that's a good deal.
Yea realize not the trick so I guess it would work to extend but maybe better if 24ish
