Deal Details
Best Buy has 2TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 PCIe Gen 4 Solid State Drive SSD (MZ-V8P2T0B/AM) on sale for $209.99.

I don't know if they're clearing out stock or if this is "special" (not using the keywords as to not set off notifications), but see images attached (or imgur link here). [imgur.com] Also, this item isn't listed any longer on the Best Buy site.

Credit to seanzie and MarMed for mentioning that they could pick it up in store even though the site says it's unavailable. This is YMMV as there is no way to verify if the location has it in stock. Most locations around me as of Saturday had a few though.

I was able to buy one online for $210 on Sunday before it was removed from the site. Hopefully I can get one more in-store

I got one online while it was still alive online and then got another in store when I got there today. YMMV. Great deal!

Just wanted to say thank you! After seeing it was sold out on their site, I was sad that I missed it. I then saw your post and went to my local BB. They said it was sold out but another store that was 6 miles away had it. They placed the order for me and I drove to the store and picked it up for the awesome price! The funny thing is they had the 1TB right next to it for $179! Kudos to you! Applause

Congrats Smilie I actually saw two people in the other thread that mentioned going in store. That deal thread was expired and I knew most would miss it so made this one! Glad you got one as well.

You mean in a laptop in your vehicle? I have no clue but Samsung says the SSD must keep it's operating temp is between 0 and 70 degrees celsius (32f to 158f). A car in the sun in 100f weather will hit 130f to 172f potentially. Hope that helps.

I don't believe so but you could try. The reason I don't think so is you would only have a picture to "prove" the price to them. There is no listing for it on the Best Buy site anymore.

Just fair warning: Depending on when the ones you get were produced, there's a newer firmware update available that will get the drive to read its intended speed (packaging says up to 7,000 MB/sec).

I bought the heatsink version of this for my PS5, and after formatting it had shown about 5500 MB/sec. I then found out that a newer firmware update was available that is supposed to resolve it to its 'true' read speed. I borrowed a PC with an available port, mounted the drive in, used Samsung Magician, and applied the firmware.

After putting it back into my PS5 and re-formatting it, it bumped up to 6600MB/sec read speed. That's a 20% gain just from one firmware update.

So if you opt to get one of these, whether you mean to use it in a PC or a PS5, get the latest firmware update.

Yeah, if I was the other user, leaving a device with a new $200+ SSD in it in a car has other concerns aside from temperature. I'd just take it into room temperature environments as much as possible, and then use it in the car when the air conditioning allows it.

Insanely good deal on this drive. I got one from Gamestop for the same price about 2 months ago, and wish I'd bought another
