This price is common. I bought it a month ago at $105 from Amazon. Good drive, though. Does not come with any migration software.

I have had the 1TB SN750 Gen4 drive in my PS5 for 8 months with ZERO issues.

Amazon unfortunately combined Gen3 and Gen4 SN750 listings. Which is probably because WD did something silly and gave both generations the same model number. But only Gen4 is PS5 compatible.

I just beat Mile Morales and Ratchet & Clank, dabbling with Resident Evil 8 and Gran Turismo 7 and I have been putting solid time into Elden Ring. My games load instantly. I purchased from Amazon back in September. Highly recommended.

Not recommended for PS5 a few of the reviews on Amazon stated problems and corruption.

I've heard similar reports about slower drives working and this drive supposedly reports as 5200 MB/s which is super close to the PS5 internal drive already. So I just ordered from Best buy for $95 after coupon and will test it out.

What's weird is that this drive has a different size compared to the Intel 670p I purchase before. Windows shows 931.50 GB for the WD Black and 953.85 GB for the Intel. Both drives were formatted to be empty too. If you download the WD Dashboard software you can enable Game Mode on this drive which slightly increases the performance.

PS5 hdd performance was a massive jump over PS4. Something like 50x and the load times show it. But moving from HDD to ANY SSD gives massive random data access improvements due to no mechanical parts. PS5 level streaming doesn't seem to max out performance yet, even in Ratchet and Clank. Once it does, prices will be lower and I can upgrade size and speed.

Sony and Microsoft made a poor judgment call making storage speed requirements so high for ALL games.

670p real memory is 1050gb. Wd black is 1000 according to my motherboard.

Has anyone successfully registered this unit at the WD site?

I am having severe issues with the Black 850 BB version. Says invalid serial number and WD has failed to get back with me for a solution.

Without a valid serial number, it will most likely go back to BB.

Seems to be a void on registration issues as I bet most people think a receipt will fix it all.

I am a big WD fan, but this could change everything.

I see. That might be why I'm seeing different sizes between the two drives.

Exactly even later 90% of games will never use max bandwidth requirement. Going to run some tests when I get this drive to compare my games load speed. If it's the same as internal speed was I will keep it.

That's the thing, at least Sony didn't. It was a recommendation not a requirement.

Can we make it a habit to mention if an ssd/nvme has dram?

Even if it's not the fastest drive, it still says something about sustained writes.
