How does the unlimited work? Anything uploaded from a certain device like Pixel? Permanently doesn't count toward quota or only so long as you keep the plan?
If permanent, would it be viable to pay for a month and dump backlog of photos/videos?

For $100, you better off getting your own portable hard drive, than letting google to store, scan and use your stuff

It's for unlimited photo storage as long as you are paying every month for appropriate plan

Normal Google One plans:
1. 100gb for $20 a year.
2. 200gb for $30 a year or $3 a month.
3. 2tb for $100 a year or $10 a month.
And it keeps going...

*Unlimited storage for photos and videos can be used by the primary account holder only.
My other lines can only upload to the 2TB limit?
Also I see the question was already asked, what if I cancel the service after 1 year? Will all the uploads I did in that time (say I already maxed out my free 15 gb) will they all be deleted? This is a forever paying $15/month, handing off account to kids when I die so I don't loose any pictures/videos kind of thing?

I like the $5 option. We currently pay for the 200gb plan and nearing the limit. The next step up was 2tb which was too big of a jump for us.

Same. I'm a bit on the fence over whether I want to jump on it. My 200GB plan is 100% paid off by my Google Rewards payouts. If I do T-mobile's option I'll have to pay out of pocket.

Why not sign up for Office 365. It's like $40/year and has the option of family plan for up to 6 people for about $70/year (or use the even better conversion). Each account gets 1TB OneDrive and MS Office. You also get email hosting with custom domain if needed.

I have over 20k pix of my child #1 and over 20k pix of my child #2. Last weekend I met up with a friend from college who visited me twice in the past 5 years, I was able to launch Google Photos and easily pull up the pix we took with child #1 and child #2. While I don't like paying Google for storage the amount of technology I get in Google Photos is second to none. I'm open to hearing out alternative options tho if anyone has any good rec
