For cutting vinyl/wood flooring and the subsequent trim, the 7-1/4" slider is nice for portability and the wide availability of blades. Does Ryobi or anyone make a hybrid 7-1/4" slider that will use batteries or cord?
I have not seen a 6" (maybe 6-1/2"?), but even the 6-1/2" blades are a bit limited. Typically, you have to chase down the actual RPM's for manufacture, battery or corded, but if the same, each increase in blade size has more teeth making contact per time frame. A 10" slider is probably the most versatile for the DIYer, but no regrets with a 12".

A guillotine style flooring cutter is awesome to keep the dust down, but like most everything else, there are different levels of quality, versatility and price for what you are cutting (engineered, laminate, LVT, LVP, SPC, VCT, WPC, etc., that have different thicknesses, cores and backs) and/or if you need to make miter cuts, etc. Then there are the flooring edge pieces that need to be ripped by hand all the way up to a table saw. If also cutting trim, you are going to need a saw from a cheap manual miter box on up.

I purchased a Ryobi 7 1/4" sliding mitre say that uses their standard 18V battery. Not for precision work, but fine for portable cuts. The only downsides are that 1) the alignment is not perfect - off a degree or 2. 2) its front heavy so you need a stand or flat base and clamps.
But it isnt a hybrid - cant use a cord.
Only issue I have is that I now have like 6 electrostatic sprayers I can't get rid of. . .

I used it to cut some baseboards and PVC using a fine blade and it makes really nice precise cuts assuming you adjusted the fence to 90 degrees before use. The plus side to this saw is the fact 7 1/4" blades are the cheapest of any size and abundant. The saw has a little slot for its hex wrench on the side for quick blade changes also. It is very lightweight (like under 20lbs) and quite compact also.
FYI Ryobi does make a sliding 7 1/4" saw with led but I haven't' seen it go on sale for less than $120 so far. I've got my eye on the Craftsman V20 sliding saw also since I bought into that line last year when they accidentally priced a bunch of their tools 75% off.
