Most things are marked up way above warehouse prices.
Just buying apple AirPods makes this a sweet deal. Thank you.

AirPods Pro: current regular price 174.99

Same day price 179.99. Markup $5 or under 3%.

Discount takes it $129.99 + tax n tip.
I may or may not work for one of the contractor style delivery providers. We're currently testing tipping only payment for orders in certain cities of the US.

If an order has a certain amount of TIP attached to it, the tip will be the full payout only, and we will not be providing additional payment. We will only provide payment on orders where the tip doesn't cover the full order or only a small tip was added, in both cases we will then supplement from our side.

Here's the kicker, we will not be lowering our fees that we charge to the customer or the fees that we charge the business for processing the orders on our platform. So we're essentially taking advantage of the tipping culture to cover delivery, and we're pocketing what we would have paid in today's model.

We have spent millions on marketing "to tip" our drivers, so we can then remove our compensation from the system and make it tips only.

So wouldn't the solution be for Instacart to pay their drivers more?

Seems like instacart's problem with not paying a fair wage.
So what is an appropriate InstaCart tip, assuming you buying normal, not heavy stuff, unlike the person buying bags of potting soil.

And isn't everyone tired of having the burden to make sure employees make a living wage placed on them as an end user, while the people who profit off their labor apparently are not expected to be part of the solution?

Sure, but just realize you're subsidizing the company by allowing them to underpay their workers. The company expects you the consumer to make up the difference, thereby increasing the company profit margin.
The reason company's get away with it is because consumers continue to use services with third party deliveries instead of ordering directly thru company. Usually because delivery time is quicker as in same day, which is obv convenient to consumer.

So I ask if you don't agree with helping a company underpay their workers by you not tipping how are you ok using the service which directly helps them get away with it?

It makes sense to me, if there's no tip on order what is the incentive for a driver to deliver it? If given the option wouldn't we all select the most profitable?

Seagate Backup Plus Hub 8TB it gives product discount

I got Seagate Backup Plus Hub 8TB drive for $88 after tax

there is product discount $50 plus $50 off $150 total discount $100

Total
$87.97

is it good deal?
If you have to ask, you don't need it. But it's basic math, what's the $/TB price you think is good atm? For me, anything below $15 is good for many drives.

got airpods pro for $91 before tax and tips

canceled $138 order, signed up for instacart express trial, which knocked airpods down to $179.99
cash app boost for additional 30% off $130

can possibly get $40 off $150 total by using amex offers instead of cash app
looks like instacart gift cards can be added here: https://sameday.costco.com/accoun...rt-express

buying 2x $75 instacart gift cards should trigger 2x $20 statement credits for those who have it

I don't use the service. I've never used Instacart. But the reason they get away with it is because enough people tip to make up the difference.

Is a Costco membership worth it for online only shopping? Nearest location is about an hour away from me and I have no interest in making that drive.

Yes. But at least the drivers would be paid a living wage and not be reliant on the generosity of the consumer to make up the difference.

This 100%. We need to stop supporting this type of business model.

Those that work for UPS, FedEx, and USPS are not independent contractors. Instacart drivers are and therefore have to pay for gas, insurance and taxes. The $10 Instacart pays them to shop and deliver your order barely covers their expenses. If you can't afford the service, whose workers rely on tips to make a living wage, don't use it.
FYI - I think it was John Oliver who talked about it recently. Apparently FedEx are independent contractors also.

"UPS drivers are usually unionized employees while FedEx Ground drivers are generally nonunion independent contractors. The UPS model provides the truck, maintenance, and benefits packages while the FedEx model puts that on the contractor, which operates as their own business." -- https://unionhall.aflcio.org/nblc...20business.
