If an order has a certain amount of TIP attached to it, the tip will be the full payout only, and we will not be providing additional payment. We will only provide payment on orders where the tip doesn't cover the full order or only a small tip was added, in both cases we will then supplement from our side.
Here's the kicker, we will not be lowering our fees that we charge to the customer or the fees that we charge the business for processing the orders on our platform. So we're essentially taking advantage of the tipping culture to cover delivery, and we're pocketing what we would have paid in today's model.
We have spent millions on marketing "to tip" our drivers, so we can then remove our compensation from the system and make it tips only.

(And no it isn't just shifting gas costs onto the delivery driver. Presumably they buy multiple people's Costco orders at once, then deliver them to all the homes. So like with UPS and the USPS, the total miles driven for delivery is less than if everyone ordering went to the store in person.)
Any idea if we get the 2% cash back in these orders since they are through Instacart
