This seems pretty solid. The g15 has better build quality than most other budget gaming laptops. About $100 will go to upgrading the ram and ssd though, so it isnt a great deal in that regard. Not a super slick deal but fairly good imo.

Is this a good deal? I dont recall seeing an rtx 3050 at this price
It's not bad. It's very close to the refurb prices on Dell if that's any indication. And those are scratch and dent which have minimal, if any, use. Currently $596 is the lowest price with the same spec. For Black Friday, I got the model for around $550.

As a starter gaming laptop, this is a great deal. I got this last November (same spec, just different color) and it was great. I could play Cyberpunk, Forza Horizon 5, Star Wars Battlefront 2, RDR2, Fortnite and a few others. At 1080p, medium to high settings on most games, you getting at least 60 fps. So if you want to game now and then and you are on a tight budget, this is a great choice.
Note it's got an extra NVME slot so I added another 500GB WD SN750 Black drive ($50) and also another 8GB of 3200 RAM (Crucial CT8G4SFRA32A $30). Definitely makes a difference. I also plug directly into the monitor (I use the HDMI) so you get the best performance, after putting it in performance mode (G key). Hits 80W on the 3050.
The 120Hz screen isn't great compared to other screens out there. Color isn't great and it's not super bright. If you are in a dimly lit room, you should be fine.
One word of warning. Dell customer support is the worst I have ever experienced. If possible, get the premium support without breaking the bank. Their basic support is completely useless.

Can I make a suggestion to anyone who wants to upgrade the memory cheaply?
A lot of times these laptops use OEM type brands of memory that are nothing special but they work, and dual channel memory will make a difference. If you install speccy on the computer and look up the model number for the memory, you may find it has something like sk hynix 8gb ddr4 3200 cl18 memory. Those are 28-30$ per 8gb. Quite a bit cheaper. And you get dual channel and that will make a nice improvement in performance for cheap. Hope this suggestion helps

I ordered one. Love that both the RAM and storage can be upgraded easily and also has a dedicated GPU. Dont see all of that at this price very often. Was trying to hold out for a 12th gen, but could not resist at this price. Just wanted something that can do some light gaming and this should have no issue with that.
I don't see PayPal 4% off, my card gives me 5.25% Cashback for on-line shopping though
Go into your PayPal app and look under the Deals section where it shows you cash back for various retailers. Both Dell and Dell Technologies offer 4% cash back. That's just 2 examples, but there's many retailers in their list that offer anywhere from around 2% up to 15% cash back.
It's worth checking out in case a specific retailer offers more cash back through PayPal than the 5.25% you get from your other card. The benefit of PayPal to most people is that if you don't have a credit card with good cash back rates, you only need a bank account to get cash back through them, as opposed to meeting the credit requirements for signing up for a better credit card.

I bought the Ryzen 5 version a few weeks ago for $672 total and I'm very happy with it.
