A word of warning - you cannot really use c920 / c922 or any similar variant on the Mac if you want to do FaceTime calls using regular speakers for sound output. And that's because this webcam does not do echo cancellation. The other end cannot hear anything. This is not a problem for Skype or zoom cause they do their own echo cancellation. But apparently FaceTime does not, leading to this problem. Tons of people complaining about it. There are threads with some suggested fixes but none of them work.

Eventually it comes down to one of two solutions - do not use the webcam with speakers (use headphones instead; which is not feasible if you have a family on this end). Or, you downgrade to the older c615 which does do echo cancellation.

After trying all sorts of things, I gave up and bought the c615. Unfortunately, the video quality on that is very poor. I just got that last week so I haven't tested FaceTime yet. I just plugged the webcam and reviewed the image which was quite grainy. But I'll live with it if the echo goes away. The only other webcams which advertise echo cancellation were over $200. So the only option left was the cheap $30 webcam, which apparently works better than the $60 c920. Go figure.

Just got off a chat with Logitech Support. This is probably the same hardware as the c922, but limited by the firmware to 30 fps at 720p. I ordered one.

Tech specs:

1080p 30fps, 720p 30fps

I found this but it's still confusing. https://www.reddit.com/r/Logitech..._logitech/

I have the C922 and it used to be a great camera but for a few months now the auto exposure setting is not working. I have to manually change the exposure for every meeting. It's really annoying, I'm always so dark.

This webcam support page is https://www.logitech.com/support/prostream

Interesting that the 1080p Prostream, C920s, and C922 all have the same webcam.

C922 supports 60fps@720p. 1080p Prostream doesn't show this in their specification; yet it's on the Walmart page. I'm going to take a wild guess and state that Walmart screwed this up by posting the C922 marketing page for the 1080p Prostream since they both have Prostream in their description.

I believe the difference between the 3 cameras is mostly marketing speak, the C920s has a privacy shutter, and the C922 supports 60fps@720p. Oh and the C920s has a blue LED indicator, while the other two have white. .

This. I also use a C922 for streaming and my exposure/brightness settings get reset every single time whether I close and restart the software or restart my computer. It is so annoying having to manually reset those values EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Not sure if it's a software issue or hardware but I'd assume the former...

I currently use it for work every single day on MacOS Monterey. It's basically plug and play. I use it for Zoom, Google Meet, and Discord. Highly recommended it!

Yeah it's the camera part # that's the same. As noted, there's a firmware element to the camera that dictates the performance of the camera.

Try using it on FaceTime with the sound coming off speakers. You'll be disappointed. Basically useless due to echo. Known problem with these webcams on macs. Skype, zoom etc. do not have this problem cause they do their own echo cancellation.
