Kickstands are pretty unreliable unless being used on smooth, flat, hard surfaces.

It's much better to lay the bike down rather than have it fall down, so skip the kickstand and teach your kids to lay it down gently (on the non-derailleur side) or lean it against a tree, post, building, etc.

Free. They delayed my order and didn't charge me for the kickstand. They mentioned it is about $10.
