Great deal on a great pair of binoculars. Get 20% off the normal refurb price. I purchased a pair of Monarch HG 10x42 last year and they were brand new with all new accessories, but in a refurbished box. Warranty isn't lifetime, but worth the savings in my opinion for these well made fan favorite Monarch binoculars.

Must add to Cart to see 20% savings! In my experience, these 20% savings don't last too long.

Top Picks:
Monarch 7 8x10: $242.40
Monarch 7 8x42: $307.17
Monarch 7 10x42: $319.97
Monarch 5 8x42: $156.00
Monarch 5 10x42: $199.95

I own a couple pairs of monarchs. Great midrange binoculars at a fairly slick price!

I've also bought numerous items from Nikon's refurbished store and all have been in excellent condition.

I'm waiting for their new Monarch style to hit the refurb section.

Still on the fence. Not sure if Monarch 7 can justify twice the price tag of Monarch 5.

At retail pricing, I agree it's hard to argue to spend twice. But with a 20% sale on top of "refurbished" pricing, the $150 difference is worth it if you're serious into binoculars, someone looking to step up into something more top of mid-tier or just appreciate the better glass then the 7 is the best one. I only went with the HG last year since I love that styling and build, but was too pricey at retail (plus, the Leica Trinovid was better at the $1K mark imo) however when I discovered the SD of 20% off their refurbished pricing made it hard to pass up otherwise the M7 was on my list.

Great video if you haven't already seen comparing M5 and M7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSX3VsFWXP8

I've always wanted a decent set of all around use binoculars. Not into bird watching. I would be using it for sporting events, hiking, etc... Can someone please recommend a good one. TIA

Monarch 5 will serve you well - sharp and beautiful colors. Nikon is great with the green and blues which will serve you well for sporting events and outdoor hiking during day light. The Actions/Aculon is decent too if the Monarchs are too pricey, but not as vibrant colors but decent price. Binoculars are like camera lens, generally you do get what you pay for since good glass costs money.

Should I get the 10x42 or 8 x42?

The 8x zoom are the most popular as it's just enough zoom and just enough wide view, but the 10 zoom are nice for that extra zoom in ..but with shaky hands can be hard to see things clearly unless you're young or don't plan to look too long into (ie bird watching).

Enjoy and report back if they were like mine - brand new placed in a "refurbished" box so it's a great deal. You're buying literally the most popular binoculars imo and you'll see why.

I got a pair of Nikon Prostaff 8x42 S3 in a sale a few months ago and they are far beyond "decent." Much lighter weight and sharper edge to edge than most. They are included in the sale at $60, which is an incredible bargain. If you aren't a binocular nerd they will probably be better than anything you have used before.

8x tend to be the most useful all around binocular power. You also get wider field of view with 8x vs 10x with the same objective size, which makes it easier to zone in on the subject. 8x is more ideal for sports and general use, and what I prefer for most of my birding ventures.

Hi, I have no knowledge on binoculars. But my kid (8 year old) has been asking for one. Should I get her the Aculon A30 8x25 or ProStaff 3s 8x42..why asking these is because of the amount I am willing to spend. Thanks!!
