This is partly true. These units have two rows of outlets. One side is battery backup and surge protected outlets, the other side is surge only. When the battery fails power will no longer be supplied to the battery backup outlets. You can move your devices to the surge only side temporarily to get things running again until you either replace the battery or the unit.

If this is just for your router/ONT it's perfectly adequate. However, if you're planning on using this for your PC, TV, entertainment system you need higher VA

This won't give you much runtime, granted you don't need much. The listing says it has a USB port for communication, that should mean that it'll work with their PC software to do an unattended shutdown.

Something to keep in mind; Cyberpower UPS units, at least in the past, will not supply any power if/when the battery is dead. It's a good way to force you to replace the battery, but if the battery is aged and needs to be replaced you will have to plug everything into another UPS, surge protector, or power strip to use any devices between replacements.

Cyberpower UPS's work well with Synology NAS units. Been using 2 of them (larger VA units) with both my Synology NAS units with no problems. The Synology's have included UPS software as part of DSM that will communicate with the UPS and allow for an unattended shutdown after a specified time period. Works well if you encounter more than 10 minutes with lost power.
