For occasional use it is fine but you can find decent soldering iron station with temp control and swappable tips for more or less similar price on Amazon. Apart from the portability option this soldering iron doesn't do much and I don't see much of an advantage of portability when it comes to soldering iron. Just my 2 cents.

I was able to stack Pro Xtra and the Veteran discount. Came out to $22.47 before tax.

Check out the review from the guy that burned himself, and gave it 5 stars. Is this for a higher ranking review or something?! SMH.

Maybe that's what he bought it for. I don't judge.

The performance of a cheap no-name soldering station that uses directly heated T12 tips is probably better. These are available without a power supply even cheaper and can run off 12V to 24V, so you could make some tool battery adapter and use it with an 18V battery.

Portability is awesome. I just used my T80 with a power bank to solder my trailer wires when installing new lights. Running an extension cord is for the birds.
