Note: Amazon will ship lego boxes (at least in my experience) in bags, so the boxes get real messed up when they arrive at your doorstep. Something to consider if you don't want the box art damaged.

If you look at what Lego's been offering, you'll see a good amount of their "toys" are marketed toward adults with kids and a disposable income. My wife and I purchased the $200 treehouse so we can build it, and let our kids play with it. (it's currently rather destroyed atm but we all had the chance to enjoy it). I'll rebuild it someday soon...

It's a great point but unlikely to affect this set as it's large enough it will almost definitely ship in a box. I did have multiple of the speed champions from Amazon get messed up because of shipping them in the plastic mailers. If it's not a gift not a big deal since they are cheap enough I'm not keeping the boxes but I wanted to give a few as gifts and had to return them.

Bought this and the apartment for my wife who was/is a huge fan of the series. She loved both builds although the apartment one has a lot more references to different episodes.

The apartment set is also double the pieces (2048) as well as triple the price ($149.99). For the amount of pieces and price it better have more references than Central Perk

Will wait for more a lower price as this set seems to be on sale every 2-3 weeks. Either it is not that popular or they over produce so many thinking it would sell out. Don't think many kids would be buying this so it is mainly targeted for adults. So maybe will wait till it drops to around $35-40.
