Good deal, but the 512GB is the limiting factor. The pros should come standard with 1TB now-a-day. I can't even update my 512GB MacBook Pro to the new OS without deleting some major stuff. Definitely a hassle.

These m1 based devices are no joke. Picked up the mac mini m1 last week. Very impressed.

The pro brings active cooling. An interesting hack I saw for the base m1 air is to pop the bottom panel off and use a couple of thermal pads to connect the heatsink to the aluminum chassis.

Lower temps, higher clock speeds and a free lap warmer.

If you can, wait until Costco has a sale for better return/warranty.

edit: it looks like Costco is the same price. Likely, Amazon is matching Costco's lower price.

Looks like Apple asks retailers to set the lowest price as $1750. Difficult to see a price lower than that.

16" is pretty chunky. If you don't NEED the bigger screen and can use an external monitor, I'd go 14".

Agreed. I paid for the 0.5TB and returned it for the 1TB. I wish I could upgrade the SSD myself but this is Apple Yucky

I bought from Amazon at 1849 last month and have still 5 days within return window. Asked amazon to price match and return me $100 difference and they dis not agree. What should I do ? If I return, will i get full refund ?
