I've never owned a wheel/pedals, how is this one? Would I need a stand? I don't play at a desk, I play in the living room (couch).

Anyone try this vs the T248? I seen the review saying the thrustmaster is better but some people have different opinions.

If you're getting this for PC, I wouldn't bother. It doesn't even register itself as a xinput device. You also have to install the Logitech app before it's even detected by Windows. The wheel was not as great as I was hoping it to be. I bought it when it was on sale for $235 and came with a $100 Dell gift certificate. In the end, I still ended up returning it to Dell.

I went with Thrustmaster after trying them both.
Pros of the Logitech:
-less plastic
Cons:
-name not nearly as cool as "Thrustmaster"

Yes, if you want to use force feedback (or a wheel in general) it needs to be mounted. You can find a cheap mount (sub $100) on Amazon

You do not need a stand, however you do need to mount it on something. A desk or an ironing board would work just fine. The mechanism for mounting and removing the wheels is surprisingly good and it even has room for cable management when not in use.

Most, if not all, stands are height adjustable for the wheel base. I've never used a stand on a couch but depending on how high you sit or the depth of the bottom cushion, the pedals might be a little far away on stands where you can't adjust the pedal position.

Great deal, I have this set and manual 6 speed shifter. Works amazingly in Grand Turismo sport. The feedback is believable and changes the way you play the game. With 6 speed, you can get very close to how real driving feels on the track with the "cockpit view".

The brake pedal is really weird on this one. It's very hard to get 100% braking because the spring or stop is super stiff. If the pedals are not super secure on the ground you'll push them all over the place. They fixed it in the next iteration.

This is easily adjusted in the steering wheel controls of the game you are playing.

I got this and play on the couch myself i had a tv tray lying around and this attached perfectly to it. This needs its own power source so make sure you have an outlet nearby. I did eventually end up selling it since it does need a lot of space to store when not in use.
