I usually tape up 4 A4 size sheets to cover the quintessential plastic kiddie table and let the kids go bananas with crayons / dab and dot markers / tempera paint. Clean up is easy. Anything semi decent goes on the fridge art gallery and mostly everything gets thrown in the trash.
Very very very sharp ! Got it during last time it was on deal thinking I could find a way to deal with sharp edges. But it's too much headache and very unsafe for kids. Returned. I cannot imagine any accidental falls on the edges !
Is it similar to the Ikea one or that is more sensible and thoughtful in design?
The Ikea kid's table and chairs is very nice. It's pretty basic in design, but no sharp edges and the chairs are comfortable enough for a 5 year old to sit and do crafts for quite a while without complaining.
Don't go for it… had it 3 months back when it was on deal. Had to return it. It had razor sharp corners and edges which even adults could get hurt. Not sure how it passed the minimum safety standards.
The edges and corners are so sharp that even if a kid sitting on it rests his/her head back, they get hurt.

It's definitely a safety hazard with sharp corners, I will return mine too.

Build quality is also not that great.
However the assembly was pretty quick.
