Just got my S22U 256GB (Snap) a few days back, before trading in the S21U. The battery life in standby seems as good as the S21U if not slightly better, but in actual usage S21U was quite a bit better tbh.. My S21U is about 7-8 months old and is great (absolutely zero lag/no hiccups, didn't get warm, good battery life with a few quirks maybe).
Both phones running the latest OneUI 4.1 April updates, and set up almost the same.
S22U is mostly fine, but I do notice a tiny bit of lag if I compare it to S21U. Don't get me wrong, it's not a slouch, but it does lack a bit of smoothness. Hard to describe it in words.
And battery life is dropping faster whenever I use it, that's a fact. I truly hope that battery life optimization process is a real thing, and things will get better.
It can get warm to the touch if you're running lots of Google Play updates or fast charging. It's not hot by any means. Do keep in mind I don't play games nor use demanding apps. For the rest of time, it doesn't get warm at all - when doing basic stuff like texting, reading, calling.
The speaker does seem a bit less 'full' on the S22U. It's sparkly enough though. I'm fine with it as I use tablets/laptops for media consumption anyways. None of them compare to the defunct S10e (exynos)- that was probably the only thing I liked about it haha.
The haptics (vibration motor) are slightly different as well. S22U tends to rotate when it vibrates. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't noticed a major difference between the two phones.
The screen gets slightly brighter on S22U, but again, tiny differences. What's a bit more obvious is the real screen estate. Probably, S22U is more suitable for reading.
The S21U screen did seem just a tiny bit warmer/contrast-ier, but that could have been the screen protector.
I'm not an expert, but I get that android has some sort of APIs for screen refresh rate. Sorry if it makes no sense, someone more knowledgeable can probably explain it better. Well, while both phones jumped to 120Hz when touching the screen, the S22U was idling to 24Hz and the S21U was showing 60Hz with the Dev settings on. Keep in mind the actual refresh rate in the hardware itself might drop to 1Hz (S22U) or 10Hz (S21U). Clearly, Samsung is taking a different approach with S22U.
The cameras seem slightly better on the S22U. The 10x is noticeably better IMO except in low light. I think that's a software issue as the camera probably uses the 3x to zoom in to 10x?! I don't know exactly, but the 10x on S21U looks better in low light; it's like S22U is doing digital zoom and craps on the pic. 10x in low light only! In good light, the 10x on S22U is clearly more detailed and better overall.
The pen. With S22U, you can chose to use the built-in S-pen as well as other S-pens from Samsung devices (tablets, laptops). It's a setting somewhere that lets you chose one over another. That makes me think you can save a bit of battery since the S-pen matrix can be disabled when the S-pen is stored in the phone. With S21U, it's always on, anything works.
Weight and balance. I like the form factor of S22U better and I actually think the weight is balanced better when hand holding the phone. S21U has more weight on the top because of the camera island and seems a bit more unbalanced in hand- I was extra careful not to drop it because of the dive. Despite the square-ish corners, S22U does seem to have better design on the sides, probably because of the curvature.
Overall, I do feel like the S22U is a side step or even a slight downgrade to S21U in some areas (for drama loving ppl). I hope Samsung will address some of these shortcomings through software updates. My feeling is the S22U is not fully fine tuned for the current android release, and that's where S21U shines.

I appropriated an S10, and it's worth another $175. My original trade is an S21 Ultra, and this still "specs-out" to accept both trades, so I could buy it now with $1175 allowance.
I'd prefer to not be forced to refuse the order and just buy it again, but $175 is $175.

Note that it is only a case cover for your Buds2, Bud Pro, or Buds Live (it does not come with the Buds2/Buds Live/Buds Pro). So would probably be only of interest to those who already have the buds products. Based on the reviews, it looks like it's just a case that looks pretty (mimics the look of the Galaxy Z Flip) but nothing else in terms of features. But free is free, so if you already have the compatible buds products and planning to get the S22 phones anyway, might as well grab this one too.
