i was able to see and add it to the cart, try a different browser or get it from ebay for the same price

I notice these are Bluetooth 4.2. I'm looking for more like Bluetooth 5.2 with LE Audio.

This guy knows what's up. They may be premium but Bluetooth 4.2 shows old stock and lots of improvements get made over the years (battery etc). Enough said.

4.2 was released 12/2014.

I have 3 pairs of these. The Bluetooth works flawlessly and has great range. These sound better then Bose or Sony. The pads will break down after 2 years. They break in the same place on the arms of the yoke.

Yes, for the Bluetooth version, the newer the batter.
However, the sound quality you got strongly depends on what codec you are using, SBC, AAC, APTX HD, LADC...
Please do not mislead people...

That's an issue with this set as well. It's not the 4.2 that's the problem, but the lack of aptx and ldac. I tried these when they came out and also found the ANC kind of a mess but that might have been improved by software later on.

From historical trends, and as you said in your post, you would need likewise devices to handle the new codecs. Qualcomm announced S3/S5 chips in early '22, so chances are we won't be seeing devices that can run these new chips until late 09/22 or even 2023, chances are it won't even be commonplace until at least 2024-2025 until the current stock of older chips are used/obsolete as there isn't a huge demand for 5.3 chips for now with a few exceptions since bluetooth headphones are reaching 20+ hrs of battery life besides tracking devices for law enforcement, military, etc.

I buy a cheap hair headband, extract the metal bits or just cut it up if the shape is right, and use tennis grip tape to attach the metal bands to fix older headphones that breaks. It's a bit of arts & crafts and customization for your needs but it works pretty well, just buy the matching tennis grip tape colors.

I have these for over a year and they have been a good buy. I use them everyday and no signs of wear and tear yet, sound quality is good and so is battery life. Type c charging makes it easy to charge. I fly frequently and use it on the airplane, no gripes about ANC, works pretty well.
