11700 only supports DDR4...Not sure why you're expecting ddr5 with 11700.

Pretty horrible deal. The other day CyberPowerPC had bunch of hot deals and I bet they will come back soon again, judging by how hardware prices have been free falling.

https://slickdeals.net/f/15747136-cyberpowerpc-rtx-3060-ti-i5-11400f-1tb-nvme-m-2-ssd-16gb-ram-code-spring-995?src=SiteSearchV2Algo

I mean just using today's price, after upgrading to 11700KF and 240aio it's still ~$1,200 and outperform this Dell by 30-40% easily, if not more. Plus a route to upgrade in the future with all standard off-the-shelf parts, all this for ~$150 more. I woulddo it all day any day. 3060ti is well worth over 3060 as it's essentially a cut-down 3070 on the same GA104 die, and it's much better suited for 1440p gaming which I consider to be mainstream nowadays.

Lowest price yet on this configuration which doesn't need an immediate upgrade of RAM and Storage. (Many previous XPS 8940 deals had 8GB RAM, or one stick of 16 in single channel mode, and 256GB SSD.). Also this has DVD and SD card reader, unlike some configurations. The CPU cooling is bad but can be helped with a $25 aftermarket part such as the Vetroo V5. This motherboard does not support overclocking or RAM voltage above 1.2V,
Anyway, I think this is a great deal on a great machine for content creators, not for gamers so much - especially now that graphic cards are becoming available.

this one has better specs
better processor
ssd plus the regular hard drive for storing games. the nzxt has a 1tb ssd but you can just upgrade this

the nzxt has a better gpu because its a ti but not that big of a deal

id save the 200 or so dollar difference and get this. maybe get your kid a nice mouse and mechanical keyboard this is 40 bucks but a decent deal https://slickdeals.net/f/15738982-hp-omen-encoder-keyboard-for-40-at-best-buy-39-99?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Go with the NZXT, it will be upgradeable in the future and you can replace any failed components with standard parts from just about anywhere.

The XPS 8940, which I bought for my son to game on, is a great deal if you look at the price of the parts alone, but there are many factors that are not reflected in the price:
The thermals on the XPS are ATROCIOUS. Right out of the box, the CPU and video card are very close to maximum temperature during gaming. OK, so I then replaced the Dell CPU cooler with a dual fan, quad heat pipe vertical CPU cooler. There is nowhere inside the computer to cleanly mount any additional fans of any size, so I zip stripped a couple of 80mm fans at wonky angles to pull air in from the front. I also replaced the stock Dell rear exhaust fan with a better fan with more airflow. The result was a decent drop in CPU temp and almost no change in GPU temp. An unexpected result was that my son's bedroom was consistently at least 10 degrees warmer than the adjacent living room and rest of the house while he was gaming. The XPS can nearly be used as a standalone room heater during the winter. High temperatures, sustained, significantly reduce the lifespan of some computer parts, especially the GPU. I ended up buying a new PC case, motherboard and power supply and taking all the other parts out of the XPS and putting them in that. The CPU and GPU temps in the new build are well below max during gaming and the bedroom is not heated up by the computer now.
Besides the hellacious temps of the XPS, the motherboard and power supply are Dell proprietary, meaning they can't be replaced by standard parts if they go bad. And ONLY that motherboard will fit in the case. Replacement from Dell are overly expensive after the warranty period is over, and after enough time your only option would be used parts. Basically, you have very little room for replacement parts if needed, and even less room for future upgrades if desired. With the NZXT system, you'll be able to replace or upgrade every single component, as needed/wanted; well worth the extra few hundred dollars in the long run.

Don't. For it to be a deal though, I'd expect better than 11700 with DDR4 at that price (or some other better components). Which is why I specifically said "...kinda meh at this price", which you didn't finish reading it seems.

Again you're making assumptions. Not agreeing with what I said is something quite different from your assuming I thought it not having DDR5 was the issue (or that I didn't know 11th gen was limited to DDR4.) Seriously though, you really shouldn't concern yourself with votes. A lot of idiots just up vote most any post (deal or not) and down vote anything negative (accurate or not).
