I bought the Rubbermaid 4-8' closet organizer kits on Amazon and have been pleased with them. I bought two for $82.50 each and then a third for $120 -- they seem to fluctuate frequently, but if you set a price alert, you may be able to catch them cheaper than the current $149. Looks like it hasn't gone much lower recently though.

If you have an older closet with a bar and a shelf above, you'll be VERY happy with one of these systems though. So much better! Installation wasn't too bad for the Rubbermaid -- can't speak for the wooden ones.
