It comes with a security cable. You can have it in your car for when you have to leave it.

Also no reason you can't screw it into a table/shelf. To have multiple locations of access.

I bought one maybe a year ago for the same reason, when I need to leave it in the car. But I actually wound up putting it in a desk drawer at home for when I work.
